Hypericum..
What subjects make the best monochrome photographs?. . Well,’ I’ve no idea, really. But I thought I would set myself the 100x Monochrome and tinted challenge to explore a bit.. . So this is one again. I think I prefer the colour if I’m to be honest, especially over-cooked in the developing like this one was in preparation for the monochrome conversion. . . Although I don’t normally like posting both I think I will today (because I like the colour version, and it’s my photostream lol). I’d be interested to hear what you think.. . Handheld in daylight and not a bad result in spite of that (I did take quite a few though ;) ). . . Also, the whole editing across three programs bar the saving was in about twenty minutes, so manages to squeak in the 20-minute edit occasional challenge I’ve set myself (which is proving a tad difficult lol).... . Thank you for taking the time to look. I hope you enjoy the image. Happy Monochrome Thursday & 100x Challenge :) . . [Handheld in daylight.. Developed in Capture One with selective colour attention to the orange, green and greeny yellows to strengthen the colour contrast so I could use a colour filter in the monochrome conversion.. Sharpened in Affinity; cropped to 16:9; tidied up with inpainting (there was an insect - aha!).. Sharpening was difficult with a mixture of tweaked USM and Clarity - High Pass failed for this one (too much haloing).. Conversion in Siler Efex starting from one of my presets with a bit of special treatment for the stamens; yellow filter; light cyanotype toning.] |
