This is another image from the rose I took for the last Sliders Sunday, but a couple of days later when the flower was further out. It's a focus stack of ten images captured automatically by the camera as before.

For the Wednesday Macro group, and also my 100x Monochrome project.

I wanted to concentrate on the central petal area but also have the symmetry off-centre to create interest. But where to put the centre then?

Here the apex of the flower is placed in a position defined by a Golden Spiral, that is a spiral based on the Golden Ratio that occurs so often in nature (easy to do in Affinity because there is a crop overlay you can use). Quite a small crop of the original resulted but it works OK I think.

The rest of the magic was in Nik Silver Efex starting with one of my own presets from an earlier piece and tweaking from there, which is a way of saying I don't know what it does, lol. But if you want the preset just ask me :)

Thank you for taking the time to look. I hope you enjoy the image. Happy Mittwochsmakro :)
