Not for the faint-hearted glampers.There are no reservations. The only way you can get a spot during the months of July and August is to arrive in the morning and walk or drive the campground until you see someone packing up. You ask them if they are leaving today, and if they say yes, you write the campsite number on the envelope, drop it in the box with the money, tag the post under their slip, and leave something that belongs to you on the site, like a chair or a cooler. Then, when the residents leave, you move in. No hookups - this is a RUSTIC campground. You have to be willing to deal with mosquitos and the occasional bear, as well as carry your water from the ONE pump. Pit toilets- 'nouf said. It can be very cold there at night - bring your warm sleeping bag and a coat. If the stable flies blow in from Wisconsin (they are nasty little things that bite even if you are sprayed with repellent,) you drive away from camp and find something to do inland until the wind changes. Even with all this, it's worth it.
