El Alcázar de Segovia, pese a su apariencia de palacio de cuento de hadas, es uno de los castillos que a lo largo de la historia de España, más expuesto ha estado a continuas luchas y desastres.
El origen de esta imponente fortificación se encuentra en los antiguos celtas, que ya poblaron la colina donde hoy se encuentra el casco antiguo de Segovia. Con la llegada de los romanos, esta fortificación fue adaptada, aunque sería completamente abandonada entre los siglos IX y XI, junto al resto de la ciudad, con la invasión árabe.
La repoblación de Segovia comenzó entre finales del siglo XI y principios del siglo XII. Con ella la prosperidad llegó a la ciudad, y gracias a ello la construcción del Alcázar sobre las ruinas de la antigua fortificación, lo convirtieron en el majestuoso palacio que es hoy día.

The Alcázar de Segovia, despite its appearance as a fairy tale palace, is one of the castles that throughout Spain's history, the most exposed has been to continuous struggles and disasters.
The origin of this imposing fortification is found in the ancient Celts, who already populated the hill where today is the old town of Segovia. With the arrival of the Romans, this fortification was adapted, although it would be completely abandoned between the IX and XI centuries, along with the rest of the city, with the Arab invasion.
The repopulation of Segovia began between the end of the 11th century and the beginning of the 12th century. With it prosperity came to the city, and thanks to it the construction of the Alcázar on the ruins of the old fortification, that turned it into the majestic palace that is today.

En los jardines del Palacio Real de La Granja de San Ildefonso, hay un estanque artificial conocido como "El Mar". Se usa para poder abastecer de agua a todo el parque, y debido a su altura se alcanza una presión de agua necesaria para el sistema de riego y el funcionamiento de las fuentes.
Este sistema funciona desde el siglo XVIII.

Fantástico día pasamos ayer (día de San Valentín), en los jardines reales de la Granja de San Ildefonso (Segovia), y en Navacerrada. Ya teníamos ganas de volver por estos bellos lugares, pero con nieve, claro, porque nos encanta. Hacía mucho frío y ventisca, pero no importaba nada, estábamos felices en ese ambiente.
El puerto de Navacerrada es una estación de esquí y puerto de montaña a 1.858 metros de altitud, que está situado en la sierra de Guadarrama. El puerto separa las provincias de Madrid y Segovia, en el centro de España.

Fantastic day we spend yesterday (St Valentine's Day), in Navacerrada, and in the Royal Gardens of San Ildefonso's Farm. Already it had desire of returning to these beautiful places, but with snow, because I am charmed with it. It was very cold and blizzard, but it was not importing anything, we were happy in this environment. The Navacerrada's port is a ski resort and port of mountain to 1.858 meters of altitude, which is placed in the saw of Guadarrama. The port separates the provinces of Madrid and Segovia, in the center of Spain.

Orbaneja del Castillo es un pueblo de la ribera del Ebro en el valle de Sedano. Situado en la provincia de Burgos, comunidad autónoma de Castilla y León, comarca de Páramos.
De arquitectura popular, con un innegable encanto y atravesado por un regato de agua que surge de la Cueva del Agua en mitad del pueblo, y se precipita hasta el río Ebro. El agua proviene del fondo de la montaña, aflora dentro de la cueva y se vuelve a sumergir entre las grietas de la roca, para volver a aparecer en el centro del pueblo, ya fuera de la cueva.
Fluye mansamente el agua por la cueva buscando la luz del día. Sale de la cueva y discurre serenamente, contemplando el paisaje del pueblo que lo arropa. De pronto, casi sin tiempo para retener en la retina las casas rústicas, se precipita otra vez roca tras roca, fisura tras fisura, rugiendo por la furia de la caída, salto a salto buscando nervioso el Ebro que le espera impaciente para nutrir su caudal insatisfecho.
El caudal de esta surgencia, de carácter permanente a lo largo del año, aumenta considerablemente en época de fuertes lluvias y deshielo, de tal manera que el recorrido de las aguas saltando desde los distintos niveles de terraza de toba, formados y recrecidos gracias a ellas, es un espectáculo único e indescriptible, sobre todo en primavera.
En verano como se ve en mi foto, el caudal tiene mucha menos fuerza, pero sigue siendo una auténtica belleza.

Orbaneja of the Castle is a people of the bank of the Ebro in Sedano's valley. Placed in the province of Burgos, autonomous community of Castile and León, region of High plateaus. Exit the cave and runs lilting and gentle, quietly, watching the scenery of the town that protects it. Suddenly, almost without time to retain the homes in the retina, precipitated again the rock water in rock, roaring with fury jumping to pool, jumping to the river Ebro, which waits for him nervously to fill his scanty flow.
The flow of this upwelling, of permanent character throughout the year, increases considerably in epoch of strong rains and thaw, such that the path of the water by jumping different levels of tufa terrace, is a unique attraction, especially in spring.
In summer as seen in my photo, the gushing flow with much less force, but still a authentic beauty.

Segovia es una joya declarada Patrimonio de la Humanidad en 1985. Tiene un grandioso pasado, aunque no deja de reinventarse constantemente. Su legado histórico es impresionante: la Catedral, el Alcázar, la Judería, el Acueducto, sus Palacios, sus Iglesias... Por todo esto y mucho más, la capital segoviana está considerada como una de las ciudades con mayor riqueza histórica de Europa. Además, su impecable estado de conservación ha sido reconocido en múltiples ocasiones por la Unesco a nivel mundial.
La Gastronomía de la zona es una delicia. Entre sus platos típicos cabe destacar: la sopa castellana, los judiones de la Granja, caldereta de cordero, asados de cordero, cochinillo o tostón y platos de trucha que aportan los ríos serranos de las cercanas cumbres; todo ello regado por buen vino de la tierra.

Segovia is a jewel declared Heritage of the Humanity in 1985. It has a grand past, though it does not stop being reinvented constant. His historical legacy is impressive: the cathedral, the fortress, the Jewry, the aqueduct, his palaces, his churches... For all that and much more, the Segovian capital is considered to be one of the cities by major historical wealth of Europe. In addition, his impeccable condition of conservation has been recognized in multiple occasions by the UNESCO worldwide.
The Gastronomy of the zone is a delight. Between his local dishes it is necessary to stand out: the Castilian soup, the beans from the farm, small cauldron of lamb, roasts of lamb, sucking-pig or tostón and plates of trout that contribute the highland rivers of the nearby summits; all this watered by good wine of the land.
