La paleta de colores que ofrece el frondoso bosque de Quinto Real fascina al visitante. Su nombre procede de una tradición del siglo XIII, cuando los monarcas de Navarra recibían la quinta parte de las ganancias de los pastores por el aprovechamiento de los pastos y montes de la zona.
Este inmenso bosque de casi 6.000 hectáreas, bajo la silueta del monte Adi, se encuentra dominado por hayas, castaños, robles y alisos.
Es en pleno otoño cuando Quinto Real muestra su mayor esplendor cromático. La exuberante flora convive con una variada fauna de corzos, gamos y principalmente ciervos. Éstos protagonizan en otoño la berrea, que es la época de celo en la que el ciervo emite sus berridos mientras busca una hembra para aparearse y combate con posibles contrincantes. Los amantes del turismo ornitológico encuentran un enclave generoso en especies pequeñas, como la perdiz, el dorsiblanco, el pito negro o la becada.
El paisaje de Quinto Real está atravesado de norte a sur por el río Arga, que vierte su caudal en el cercano embalse de Eugui.

The color palette offered by the leafy forest of Quinto Real fascinates the visitor. Its name comes from a tradition of the thirteenth century, when the monarchs of Navarre received a fifth of the profits of the shepherds for the use of pastures and mountains in the area.
This immense forest of almost 6,000 hectares, under the silhouette of Mount Adi, is dominated by beech trees, chestnuts, oaks and alders.
It is in autumn, when Quinto Real shows its greatest chromatic splendor. The exuberant flora coexists with a varied fauna of roe-deers, fallow deers and principally deers. These are the protagonists in autumn the bellow, which is the time of zeal in which the deer emits its howls while looking for a female to mate and fight with possible opponents.
Ornithological tourism lovers find a generous enclave in small species, such as the partridge, the white-backed woodpecker, the black woodpecker or the woodcock.
The landscape of Quinto Real is traversed from north to south by the Arga River, which flows into the nearby Eugui reservoir.
