Been away with family. Looking forward to catching up with your posts.

Wind shears above Oregon's Mt. Hood.

I posted this yesterday in color (in comments). I generally prefer technicolor versions of images, loving the varied colors of nature. However, I thought this dynamic drama and energy worked better in monotones.

Hope your Easter weekend is off to a wonderful start.

A favorite bench at Glacier's Lake McDonald. Sitting here taking in this grandeur and serenity does help one realize what is really important in life.

Happy Friday!

A view looking SE at Yellowstone's West Thumb Geyser Basin.

West Thumb derived its name from the thumb-like projection of Yellowstone Lake. The name was given by the 1870 Washburn Expedition.

"The West Thumb Geyser Basin is the largest geyser basin on the shores of Yellowstone Lake. West Thumb is about the same size as another famous volcanic caldera, Crater Lake in Oregon, but much smaller than the great Yellowstone Caldera which last erupted about 640,000 years ago. It is interesting to note that West Thumb is a caldera within a caldera."

Christine Falls is probably the most photographed waterfall in a Park blessed with many spectacular waterfalls.

This lower portion of Christine Falls tumbles 37 feet. It is just one of several impressive falls along Van Trump creek. The creek flows from the Van Trump glacier on it's way down steep terrain to the Nisqually river.

An image of the upper falls and other perspectives of pretty Christine in comments.

You make my day with your views, comments, faves and support. Thank you!
