Would be wonderful to see this major Alaskan river with the spring runoff. Bet it would be impressive.
The Chulitna river, a tributary of the Susitna river, flows below
Mt. Foraker, Mt. Hunter and Denali in the distance. Liked those mountains before them as well.
Thanks for taking a look!

Happy Veteran's Day!
A salute on this special day to our veterans, past and present, who sacrificed for America and Canada. Happy Veterans Day and Canadian Remembrance Day! May we never forget. And may someday peace reign and rule forever (one can dream.....).
Enjoy a wonderful weekend!

The curtain is about to fall.
A storm is building and soon a portion of Denali was covered.
Mt. Hunter on the left. The native name for the mountain is Begguya, meaning "Denali's Child". For perspective, they are 8 miles apart.
Denali is the third-tallest of the “Seven Summits” (the tallest peak on each continent), after Mount Everest in Asia and Mount Aconcagua in South America.
What truly sets Denali apart is its latitude which leads to some extreme weather. It rises just two hundred miles south of the Artic Circle and is the coldest and stormiest of the Seven Summits.
The other six are close enough to the equator to escape the extremes of cold, snow and wind which regularly impact Denali.
Enjoy a wonderful weekend!

Viewing Mt. Sanford from Alaska's Tok Cutoff. Just one of the many Wrangell range volcanoes.
Mt. Sanford at 16,237 feet is 4000 feet higher than Mt. Drum posted yesterday. Mt. Sanford is also the 6th highest mountain in the US.
"The Wrangell Mountains are a high mountain range of eastern Alaska in the United States. Much of the range is included in Wrangell-Saint Elias National Park and Preserve. The Wrangell Mountains are almost entirely volcanic in origin, and they include the second and third highest volcanoes in the United States, Mount Blackburn and Mount Sanford. The range takes its name from Mount Wrangell, which is one of the largest andesite shield volcanoes in the world, and also the only presently active volcano in the range."
