A b/w depiction of this popular Rainier Park waterfall. Liked the way the branches and boughs framed this top section of the falls.

The falls was named by Frederick Gordon Plummer in 1893 after a branch of the Narada Theosophical Society of Tacoma. This branch was called Narada, a Hindu word meaning "pure".

A color version of this 188 foot horsetail falls in comments.

Enjoy a terrific Thurs
day!

A typical mountain scene seen frequently in the Gem State.

A section of the large Sawtooth range taken from behind the Forest Service Ranger Station.

As always, thanks for taking a look and for any comments, faves and suggestions.

A view of this pretty glacial fed river as it flows downstream from the Natural Bridge on it's way to joining the Columbia River.

The River’s unusual name stems from an incident near Wapta Falls in August 1858, Sir James Hector writes:

"A little way above this fall one of our pack horses, to escape the fallen timber, plunged into the river, luckily where it formed an eddy, but the banks were so steep that we had great difficulty in getting him out. In attempting to recatch my own horse, which had strayed off while we were engaged with the one in the water, he kicked me in the chest, but I had luckily got close to him before he struck out, so that I did not get the full force of the blow. However, it knocked me down and rendered me senseless for some time. This was unfortunate, as we had seen no tracks of game in the neighbourhood, and were now without food; but I was so hurt that we could not proceed further that day at least." - James Hector chronicles, 1858.

Enjoy your Sunday!

Brandywine Falls (230', 70 meters) is near Whistler. It is an easy 15 minute walk from the parking lot, which is right off the Sea to Sky highway.

A popular spot, with limited perspectives. This is the standard view I suspect. The area is protected so not able to explore and get many others views. I understand well why this is done, but I do regret not getting to see it from other angles. It was an impressive falls.

Hope you're all enjoying a wonderful weekend!

The name in the First Nation's Nakoda language for Banff's Lake Minnewanka. Sure seemed right when standing here experiencing and hearing the roiling water motion and waves with Mt. Inglismaldie rising majestically across the lake.

"Minnewanka Lake is a glacial lake located five kilometres (3.1 miles) northeast of the Banff townsite. The lake is 21 km (13 mi) long and 142 m (466 ft) deep, making it the 2nd longest lake in the mountain parks of the Canadian Rockies (Maligne Lake is the longest)." Wiki

Thanks for taking a look and for any comments, faves and suggestions.

Be Well!
