A view from the top of eastern Washington's Steptoe Butte looking south on the Palouse in early June a few years ago. Nice to have some deep archives.

This has been a long cold winter and a long wet spring so the crops are probably a bit behind and wetter than normal. Weather finally getting warmer (I think) next week so should be popping nicely.

FY: the road around and to the top of the Butte was scheduled to be closed and rebuilt last summer but was cancelled. The plan is to try again this summer. As of last notice tho it won't start, if it does, till after June.

Well I waited too long. I always wanted to get a shot of this abandoned barn before it advanced much in it's slow but steady collapse. Looks like last winter burdened it heavily leading to this forlorn state. Probably won't be standing much longer after a few more winter storms.

Located near the town of Palouse WA.
