One from the archives.

Mt. Wilbur is just one of the iconic peaks in Glacier Park's Many Glacier area. It rises 4500 feet above Swiftcurrent Lake. The Ptarmigan Wall forms a rugged steep narrow ridge to it's NE. Also known as the Pinnacle Wall by some.

Iceberg Lake is in the corner junction where the Wall meets Wilbur. A highly recommended hike. Some pics of this pretty lake in comments.

Thanks for a taking a look!

Montana's iconic Chief Mountain.

"Chief Mountain has been a sacred mountain to Native American tribes for hundreds of years. The Blackfoot name for the mountain is Nínaiistáko.

Chief Mountain remains sacred to many First Nation peoples from both the US and Canada. Natives from all over North America travel to the base of the mountain for sweet grass ceremonies, placing of prayer flags and other religious rites. In the early 1900s as white settlers came to the area, they observed native burial sites scattered along the base of the mountain. Elders from Southern Alberta's Siksika Band (where the Great Chief Crowfoot hailed from) and other First Nation groups have an oral tradition that near the end of days, a Great White God would appear from the top of Chief Mountain and upon his departure, the mountain would crumble and be destroyed."

A shot from the past from a favorite hike in Glacier Park's Many Glacier area. The weather was wonderful and the views were incredible.

Had fun shooting the wedding this weekend. My dear wife Karen helped me with it, using my other camera. It was outdoors so we had room to move and get different comps. She used a wide angle lens and I a telephoto for close ups. She really got into it, stepping into my way much of the time. I forgot to tell her about the rule of photographers staying out of each others way. Was a bit miffed during the ceremony, but my shots with her in it were quite funny. The couple thought so too. I still was able to get lots of good shots. Karen got some really good shots being so close so it worked out fine. Some of the images of her in odd poses weren't all that flattering though so I think she got the message....

Thanks for taking a look!

A slice of the Rocky Mountains as one approaches from the east.

Yellow, Gable, Ninaki and Chief Mountains stand out prominently after crossing the prairies.

Thanks for your comments.

This impressive falls tumbles 492' from the hanging valley formed between Mt. Oberlin, Clements Mountain and Mount Cannon. Taken from the incredible Going to the Sun Road.
