I posted a pic yesterday of some of the ramparts that stretch out on the edges of massive Mt. Wilson. Thought I'd provide a wider view to better show how huge and formidable this mountain is. Seen from the David Thompson Highway as I near Banff's Saskatchewan Crossing.
Mount Wilson honors Tom Wilson (1859–1933) who was an early explorer in the Canadian Rockies. An early traveller wrote, "I don't like Mount Wilson. I once travelled around its base for two days and it seemed as though I should never get away from it."
Mountains and their ecosystems are my primary fascination and subject. My Cathedrals. I'm blessed to live where I do with some of the finest peaks in the world within a days drive.
Thanks for taking a peak peek!
Have a wonderful weekend!
