A view of the highest peak in North America as seen from the Petersville road.

Denali is 20,310 feet (6,190 meters) above sea level, also making it the third highest of the Seven Summits — the highest mountains on each of the seven continents — following Mount Everest in Nepal and Aconcagua in Argentina.

Back from a marvelous long road trip thru British Columbia, Yukon to Alaska. 7025 miles, many of them some of the worst I've ever driven (mainly in the Yukon). Coping with the frost heaves and permafrost is a never ending challenge up there.

As a Peak "pic" Bagger this was a moving moment to see. Seeing it was a primary objective of my trip. Took 6 days for it to clear, but was well worth it.

It's windy, wet and cold up there. Who knew? ;-))
Approximately 2/3 of my trip was rainy with a few days of heavy snow. Passed up many a beautiful scene as conditions weren't right for a shot. Mother Nature rules and we enjoy what we get. Still loved it. Hope to return one day.

Glad to be home. Looking forward to getting back in the Flickr groove and catching up.
