Merry Christmas to everyone who celebrates it! I hope that everyone has a wonderful holiday season. This is the picture that we used for our Christmas cards this year. I took it during our bike camping trip in the upper peninsula of Michigan. We weren't exactly ready for a traditional family portrait. After a long day of biking and running through the woods we were a real mess. We got even messier when our campsite neighbors surprised the kids with a bag of fresh cherries. This was hardly the first time on our trip that complete strangers suprised us with seemingly random acts of kindness. In the coming year I hope that we can do simple things like this to spread a little joy to people who need it.
