bokeh bricks Chicago Chicagoist light "night photography" Resurrection |
Caption- Abstract: |
I've always been fond of old brick and cobblestone streets. I think of the hands that laid the bricks down one by one, creating streets full of character and beauty. In Chicago most of these streets diseappeared long ago--either torn up or unceremoniously buried beneath layers of asphault. And yet this was not the final chapter for all of these streets. After decades of confinement some of the bricks began to emerge from their cold graves. Once more could they bask in the warmth of the sun, delight in the voices of children walking by, feel the kiss of falling rain, and sleep peacefully under the light of the moon. |
