Earlier in January we had an inversion layer over the Silicon Valley, California, where a colder layer of air is trapped below a warmer layer of air. An inversion can linger for a few days when there is little or no wind, and tends to trap pollution. The particles in the air reflect light, which gave these beautiful layers of red, orange and yellow in the sky of the San Francisco Bay.

I processed a balanced, a paintery, and a photographic HDR photo from three RAW exposures, blended them selectively, and carefully adjusted the color balance and curves. I welcome and appreciate constructive comments.
