Prothonotary Warbler ~ (Protonotaria citrea)

A Prothonotary Warbler pauses briefly in the cypress swamp for a photo. One of my favorite warblers. They are little bits of light darting through their dark habitat.

Thanks for visiting!

Yellow-crowned Night Heron ~ (Nyctanassa violacea)

"Get down here and fight like a crab!"

It sure appears that the Blue Crab is pulling the Yellow-Crowned Night Heron down to its level. The crab was, in fact, holding on to the vegetation with all its might to avoid being dinner. In the end, The Night Heron was able to overpower the crab, as is usually the case.

Thanks for visiting!
