Great Horned Owl (Bubo virginianus) ~ Pinellas County, Florida

As hurricane Matthew moved up the east coast, I decided to head out on the west coast to see if anything was around. It was expectedly quiet on that very windy morning, but I did find this wide awake Great Horned Owl. It must have been hard to sleep with the tree moving side-to-side and the leaves whipping around.
