Because of my work, which takes me far away from home on short notice, and which ties me up for weeks of around the clock work, I have images saved that I don’t get a chance to post. In the wake of the pandemic, and the related shutting down of ways being involved in the world, it is pretty amazing to look at images taken and not posted; images taken recently, that seem so ancient. It is a ‘before’ that we didn’t appreciate. So much has changed in our lives that a trip into the bush a few months ago is a distant memory. Here’s to the birds and the cameras that help to keep us engaged in the world around us, safely and with physical distancing, and not simply confined to our homes. And here’s to returning to the world we lived in before, slowly and when it is ready for us. Please wear masks, stay physically distant, and take care of each other. We can do this.
