I had a walk on Big Moor this evening and encountered this stag with a modest harem of does. There were some gaps in the rain clouds and I was lucky when the stag moved to some higher ground where it was silhouetted against a patch of light, It was agitated by the presence a few hundred metres away of two younger looking stags that seemed to be waiting in the wings, perhaps looking for an opportunity to challenge the larger stag.

Whilst driving back from watching the sunset from the lighthouse at Ardnamurchan Point, I encountered a small group of Red Deer. The light had gone but it was possible to get some silhouette images against the warm sky.

With the clouds clearing, I headed up to Big Moor yesterday to try to get some photographs of the local deer around sunset. For this image I shot straight towards the sun and used a large downwards exposure compensation in an attempt to achieve a rim lighting effect.
