City walk in Dordrecht. Pieter Boele steam powered tug.

The tug was built in 1893 at the Boele shipyard in Slikkerveer. Until 1965, the tug served on the Upper Rhine under the name 'Speculant' and was one of the last ships that were displaced by the rise of the current push barges and the increase in the Rhine ships' own propulsion.
In 1972 the tug was renamed after the name of the shipbuilder Pieter Boele.

City walk in Dordrecht. Schroevendok Straatman.

This screw dock from 1928 is a national monument and landmark of the Wolwevershaven. It belonged to the Machinefabriek L. Straatman Ketelmakerij, which was located at the Kuipershaven from 1902 to 1996. The dock was used to partially lift ships out of the water so that the ship's rudders and screws could be repaired or replaced from floating wooden platforms. It originally had a lifting capacity of 30 tons, in 1952 the capacity increased by ten tons. The tackle is a rare example of an early twentieth-century ship repair facility in an inland port. The detailed design and use of materials contribute to the building's historical value. The dock is owned by the Schroevendok Foundation and is used by the Jooren Scheepsrijders company for repairs of (ship) propellers, making it a living monument.
