The spectacular Nyhavn Canal is one of the most iconic sights in the Danish capital.
Nyhavn was constructed by King Christian V in the 17th century. The oldest house dates from 1681. The canal is lined with houses from the 17th and 18th centuries and is home to many historic wooden ships.
Hans Christian Andersen lived in Nyhavn for about 18 years.
