Apparently the old TWA terminal building is reopened. It is a beautiful piece of work. Every detail, right down to the railings and the steps, is perfect.

Jayne, Wash and Zoe in the spaceship "Serenity" in the movie of the same name. That retro brass wall sculpture!
I listened to the director's commentary on the DVD and Joss Whedon talks a lot about lighting, lenses, props, even costumes, but never talks about the set design on the ship, which I found odd. They call this sci-fi style "used future." It's a mix of Civil War era costume, westerns, midcentury and 60s modern decor, country kitchen and lots of other things. Those look like real Scandinavian rya rugs. And what is that yellow couch? And that black chair. If anyone knows who designed these, can you leave a comment? Oh, and the copper wall sculpture... it's either the 60s, or the future, or the wild west. 60s decor in a space western!
