Mummified seal at the edge of a glacial meltwater stream, on the edge of Lake Bonney. As this location in the Dry Valleys of Antarctica is currently far inland from the Ross Sea, it is believed that the mummified seal is quite old. I'm not sure if they've carbon-dated this one. (There are other examples of mummified seals found in the Dry Valleys.)
