A quiet corner of Vieux Lyon on the bank of the Saône: Palais de Justice and Cathedrale St-Jean. I like the tight composition and the variety of architectural styles.

The square was created in 1556 and a fountain, designed by Desjardins, was added in 1856, but somehow it didn't stick. A new one was designed by Gaspard André in 1878 and completed in 1881 with statues by Degeorges.

Vieux Lyon, at the foot of Fourvière hill, it is one of Europe’s most extensive Renaissance neighborhoods. [Wikipedia] It is very well preserved and full of fascinating details. It is very compact, but large enough to visit again and again, discovering new things every time.
