A lucky encounter with a moose in Provo river in the Uinta Mountains of Utah. Location is approximate. I'm not sure exactly where I was.

View from Bubble Rock (well, one of the Bubble Rocks pair) in Acadia NP. We see Eagle lake and Mt. Desert Narrows in the distance, with the Maine mainland beyond. Far away on the horizon is Mt. Katahdin, the northern end of the Appalachian trail.

Snapping turtle is making elaborate tracks in the mud.

Taken at the Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge on Maryland's Eastern Shore. The refuge is a very important stop on the Atlantic Flyway, a major bird migration path. There are also lots of other wildlife, including several species of turtles.

A quiet night along Oudezijds Achterburgwal, at the heart of Red Light district in central Amsterdam. Later it will become a heated party scene, but the night is still young and it feels very quiet.
