Sunrise with the setting moon over Philadelphia skyline. Seen from the Camden waterfront which, unlike much of the rest of the city, is quite a nice place.

The statue of Nabokov in front of the Montreux Palace Hotel, where he spent the last 16 years of his life. April is the month of Nabokov's birthday; posting preemptively early, because I know I will miss the exact date, as I have in all the previous years.

Montreux has two memorable statues, very different statues of very different people - not that far from each other. The other one is Freddy Mercury. There are more statues, of course; lots of famous people have lived in Montreux. Not all of the statues speak to me, and some have been installed after I visited.

Reynisdrangar are one of the most recognizable features in Iceland. Basalt sea stacks, framed by a black-sand beach, they look dramatic from all directions.

Happy Easter to all who celebrate. And, of course, what is Easter without a bunny!

Marsh rabbits are small cottontails limited to coastal wetlands of the South-Eastern US, from Florida to, maybe, South Carolina. Here we see one munching on a leaf along a trail in the Bailey Tract, which is a part of JN Ding Darling NWR, but separate from the main reserve and thus much quieter..

The colorful and intricately arranged moat garden along the northern wall of the Angers Castle. The castle took shape in the first half of 13th century during the reign of Saint Louis (Louis IX), including its iconic striped towers. It has the rare distinction of never being conquered in its history. It also houses a museum of medieval tapestries with its amazing late 14th century Apocalypse Tapestry. But otherwise, the interior of the castle is rather underwhelming, compared to its outer walls.
