It used to be one of the most popular holliday cities in the seventies. The rich and famous used to walk around the beach and live in the hotels.
But in 1974 the turkish army invaded the northern part of Cyprus and forced the Greek-Cypriotic army and people south.
The abandoned city is still guarded to this date by the turkish army and some FN soldiers.
