Whilst I recently commented that I wouldn't be doing any (or many) more modern buses, I'm aware that some visitors will appreciate a break from my current focus on classic trucks; hence this 'one-off', which is a replacement for an earlier Enviro 400 image in the same colour scheme. It's a digital-conversion of a dual-door bus, based on an original by Stephen Hughes. The London-style destination unit may not be appropriate for GNE but some compromises had to be made. I'm not entirely convinced about the styling of this current Wrightbus product, which does seem to suit some liveries better than others (updated 21-Nov-15)

Based on the earlier Grand Central Trains version, this Wright-bodied Scania carries all-over advertising for the former East Coast franchisee Great North Eastern Railway. All-over adverts such as this have become less common in recent years, fortunately so in most cases. Whilst I'm not aware of any GNER advertising liveries on regular service buses, at least one feeder service was operated by GNER-liveried coaches in the Yorkshire area (30-Jan-12).

This is the second bus to be featured in Northern Rail livery and, once again, the result possibly looks better than it does on some rail units. An interesting comment against the first image suggested that it looks like a cross between Arriva and First; indeed it's not difficult to see some similarity with Stagecoach, such are the trends in modern liveries. This time I'm not suggesting why Northern Rail should be operating buses (08-Sep-12).

Here's something a little different to complete this round of modern buses. I'm not a great fan of overall advertising schemes unless they are very well done, and I'lL leave you to be the judge of that in this case. I like Grand Central Train's livery and wondered what it would look like applied as an overall advert on a modern bus. The graphics and lettering are from current Grand Central advertising. Arriva's recent acquisition of the company and promise to retain as an autonomous business unit may well provide an opportunity for advertising such as this (03-Dec-11).

This is an opportunist image produced on the back of some commissioned work in an unrelated livery. Arriva introduced Wright bodywork to the Dutch market in 2002/3 with Cadet and Commander bodies on DAF SB120LF and SB200F chassis respectively, providing a 'strangely familiar' experience to British enthusiasts in the days before the pan-European Mercedes-Benz and Scania integrals had taken hold. Perhaps because of the latter development, it didn't follow up these initial purchases with later Wright-bodied buses such as this fictional Scania L94 with Wright Solar body (02-Dec-12).
