As a major operator of the Anglo-Swedish Metro-Scania double-decker, Kingston- Upon-Hull City Transport must have seemed a good prospect when Scania returned to the UK market with its own offerings, but by then the operator's allegiances were elsewhere. This fictional image, based on preserved Tyne & Wear PTE JFT 413X show what an Alexander-bodied Scania BR112DH would have looked like in Transit-era KHCT livery (08 Jul 10).

The last low-height double deckers acquired by Cleveland Transit were, I believe, the Northern Counties-bodied Daimler Fleetlines, which are represented in preservation by the 500 Group's L544. Transit remained faithful to Northern Counties with subsequent batches of full-height bodies on Bristol VR and Dennis Dominator chassis. This fiction image combines the Fleetline-style low height body with the Bristol VRT chassis, the most notable visual differences from the Fleetlines being the grille for the front-mounted radiator and the integral rear engine housing (25-May-10).

This is the second trolleybus that I’ve finished in Cleveland Transit livery, so I’ll refer you to the first image (link in the comments below) for the rationale behind both. This particular trolleybus was one of five purchased from Reading Transport after that undertaking abandoned trolleybus operation in late 1968. New in 1961, the twelve members of this class had the last new design trolleybus bodywork for a British operator and were also the last double-deck bodies built by Burlingham (18-Jul-20).

The chassis and body depicted are both appropriate to Newcastle Corporation Transport, but not in combination. Its pre-war Daimler COG5s had local bodywork but, for expediency, it was obliged to accept Birmingham-style MCW bodies on its post-war Daimler CVGs. The main visual difference was that the CVG6 had a more upright radiator. Delivered in the then standard blue and cream livery with Birmingham-style destination displays, they were later repainted into the more familiar yellow and cream livery and fitted with standard Newcastle destination units (08-Sep-16).

I was asked to produce this image by Sean Blair, who owns or is involved in the preservation of the real life M902 DRG (which is currently in Stagecoach livery). It was one of a small batch of experimental buses purchased by Busways Travel Services before it passed to the Stagecoach Group. New in Newcastle Busways livery (with maroon trim), it later served with Sunderland Busways (green). Rather than tackling the daunting task of removing the current Stagecoach livery, I opted to use an image of OK Travel's similar L211 LEF kindly provided by Keith Lee (15-Apr-14).
