This is the second of a series of images requested by Andrew Tucker, who is currently working on the restoration of OJF 191 with fellow members of the Leicester Transport Heritage Trust. See the accompanying image for the background to this particular batch of buses.
This third livery variation was applied in 1968 when the buses were deployed on miscellaneous duties. Withdrawal came at the end of the following year but all five found further work with subsequent owners, 191 and 192 going to Birmingham-based contractor Douglas. Whilst 192 was subsequently scrapped, 191 passed to a Brownhills dealer in 1975, who appears to have simply parked it up (with others) in a sandpit - and there is stood for just over quarter of a century until acquired for preservation in the winter of 2002/3. Restoration is on-going with a target completion date of 2016 (21-Jul-13).
