This fictional AEC Routemaster was inspired by a superb 1/24 scale model of the longer RML version built by Paul Savage (link below). As Paul says, neither Accrington nor its successor Hyndburn ran Routemasters, but the type certainly looks well in the former company's dignified and distinctive livery. Accrington Corporation Transport was absorbed into Hyndburn Transport in 1974, which was itself purchased by Stagecoach Holdings in 1996 and ceased to exist as a separate entity in April 1997.
