User / northernblue109 / Bury Corporation Transport, Lancashire: Leyland Atlantean/Alexander (fiction)

Resuming an earlier theme of lost municipals, this fictional 'Liverpool-style' Alexander-bodied Leyland Atlantean AN68 carries the light green and cream livery of Bury Corporation Transport. Bury took MCW-bodied Atlanteans of a broadly similar design to those previously delivered to Liverpool, but without the distinctive fluted aluminium skirts of the latter, and with the addition of twin vertically mounted headlights. Like Liverpool and nearby Bolton, Bury was in the forefront of the quest for more adventurous body designs on rear-engined double-deck bus chassis. Once again, thanks to Phil Halewood for the use of his source image (19-Dec-11).
