With a total area less than seven square miles, the former Portuguese colony of Macau is located on the south east coast of China, within easy reach of Hong Kong. Significantly it shares with Hong Kong and Singapore a 'right-hand drive' rule of the road, so it's not surprising that British buses have featured in its transport history. It must have been Mecca at one time for British enthusiasts with the time and money to make the journey in search of elderly Bristol L Types - a further thirty arrived in 1960 to supplement and replace earlier acquisitions.

The original monochrome image of M-14-77 is credited to the D Withers, who I trust will accept my digitally-coloured rendition in the spirit intended. This bus began as a standard rear-entrance vehicle in the UK. The front entrance was added in Macau and the rear door was later replaced by an exit in the third bay for one-person operation.
