The Bedford S-Type 4x2 was used in tractor (SA) form by all three of the British Armed Forces, most commonly by the Royal Air Force and Royal Navy with Queen Mary aircraft recover trailers. This example with a 5-ton flatbed semi-trailer is depicted at Steamer Point in Aden. Whilst lacking the usual RAF roundel, the registration number (within the series beginning AA to AZ) is confirmation of ownership. This digitally-coloured image, which is based on a monochrome original from an unknown source, is deemed a transformative work under the fair use doctrine of copyright law (18-Aug-23).
