Less obvious as an aircraft refueller than the accompanying Shell-BP unit, this AEC Mercury is nevertheless an impressive vehicle. It was one of several similar units supplied to Caltex Petroleum for use a Dublin Airport. The cab appears to be non-standard, if there was such a thing on AEC chassis. Caltex - originally the California Texas Oil Company - is a brand less well-known in the UK but a major player in the worldwide petroleum market, especially in Australia and New Zealand. Thanks to Graham Newell for the original monochrome image (15-Jan-19).
