I had intended to convert this to a Scania - as actually operated by Busways - but the necessary changes proved more complex than expected. So here it as a Volvo, as operated by virtually all other companies in the Stagecoach Group, of which Busways became part. The PS was an attractive body, which suited this livery style very well. Like its predecessor Tyne & Wear PTE, Busways remained a predominately double-deck fleet for some years and the PS never appeared in quantity on its services.
