The Mack F-Series was probably the best-selling US truck in Europe. Gloucestershire haulier John Golding ordered one after touring the Mack factory whilst on holiday in the USA, beginning a long association with US trucks. This fictional F-700 is not necessarily an accurate portrayal of that particular truck, which I believe had a set-back front axle. In many ways, the cab-over-engine (COE) F-Series was a European truck, with North American and Australian customers generally favouring 'conventional' (bonneted) trucks for long haul work (31-May-17).
