The S83 was a mid-seventies update of the successful Foden S80. Outwardly, the most obvious change was the replacement of the iconic kite badge and Foden script with the company name in large white capital letters, though the popular kite badge was retro-fitted on many S83s. The cab was better insulated and engine access via the 'one man tilt' cab improved. According to its 1977 adverts (the last year of manufacture), Foden could install Cummins, Gardner or Rolls-Royce diesels for immediate delivery. As with the accompanying S80 image, I cannot say whether WH Malcolm operated any S83s; but, again, it looks right in the company's traditional livery (23-Apr-14).
