Back from the holliers today to a view of the first seaside town she was ever taken to! Youghal in County Cork, and ancient town that has featured here on a number of occasions. In the past we have had some of the bigger format plates but today, probably because of where he had to take his camera, Mr. French used a cabinet sized one.
Is that a crop of spuds in the foreground or is it overgrown with weeds?

When Morning Mary saw the title on this photo she gave a groan, not another Cork city centre photo! But this one is different and shows a General View of some part of Cork City - but which part? Those walls in the foreground look relatively new which might give some help with the identification and the date?

Old Cross in Newtownards, Co. Down must refer to a cross roads because otherwise there is no cross in sight? A very interesting image from the Eason Collection with girls in pinafores, boys in bare feet a water fountain, a patient nag outside stables and traffic in the distance. Is the fountain still there, where is the Old Cross, and what does it look like now?

Monkey Morgan was flying high over a shiny new hospital but where was/is it? Don't be fooled by the neighbours because they can easily mislead you and lead you up blind alleys!!!!

Staying with the Lawrence Collection to end the week we have a magnificent view of St. Mary's Abbey and Howth before the bay was filled in. I imagine that most people think that the Abbey is a tavern rather than an ancient place of learning and worship/
