These chicken sized birds build massive nest-mounds of decaying vegetation, which the male attends, adding or removing litter to regulate the internal heat while the eggs incubate. Komodo dragons hijack these nest mounds and lay their own eggs in them (after digging out and eating the megapode's eggs).

Cormorants have traditionally been used for fishing in China for many centuries. They are trained to fish with a string tied around their necks just tightly enough so that they can't swallow any fish that they catch. Once they're caught a fish they return to their master's bamboo raft where he takes their fish and returns them to the river. At the end of the fishing session their string is removed and they receive some fish as a reward. Nowadays it is mainly a tourist attraction rather than a serious means of fishing.
