‘rabari’ people are still a mystery. their life style is totally different from other tribes. they have nomadic or semi-nomadic life style wandering for pasture for their cattle, may travel thousands of kms away.
originally, ‘rabari’ came from jaisalmer area of rajasthan, or from afghanistan or sindh according to some experts.

though, there are different costumes and dresses in sub-caste for women but white outfit is common to all men. women wear black because black wool is wastage. they also believe black is the colour of sadness. rabari women are expert embroidery workers. from the childhood girls learn and collect embroidered cloths for the dowry in their marriage.

windows in the corridor, the finest example of classical architecture. rao pragmalji II took up the construction of prag mahal in bhuj, India on 1838 AD and continued with it till the year 1876. he assigned the task of designing the building to colonel henry saint wilkins.
bhuj is well known for nutcrackers, penknives, embroidery, batik work and bandhani (tie ‘n dye) work. it’s silver and enamal work is still under great demand.

wall hanging iron bells and a shrine-like 'toran', on a compound wall. this 'toran' is specially used for decor and worshipping during wedding.
