This is the bunker from which the last shot was taken. The small rocks you see scattered used to be cemented onto the fortress to camouflage it. You can see some camouflage on a part of it in the middle distance.

The low Sun illuminates the rock pools and the waters of Braye Bay at low tide on the Channel Island of Alderney.
Believe it or not, this was taken from the huge gun mount of the Nazi bunker & fortress at Bibette Head, which is hidden amongst these rocks. This would have been the view of the gunner, but at high tide, with waves, water explodes into the opening!

The Sun sets behind rocks that hold a secret on Bibette Head on one side of Bray Bay, Alderney. The headland was fortified by the Nazis, and these rocks are part of the elaborate camouflage of a huge bunker complex, with hundreds of hidden tunnels, many still accessible (and We did!).

This is what happens when you bomb a fortress strength Nazi Bunker.
The stairs at the end are the entrance, and this shot was taken from where the big gun would have been mounted.
This area was apparently shelled by a Royal Navy ship using 16 inch 1 Ton shells in 1945. It has probably looked like this since then!

A Nazi blast door stands against the wall in an area of utter devastation in what was a World War 2 Nazi gun emplacement. This bunker, made of fortress strength Concrete many feet thick was blown up near the end of the War, possibly by a British Warship. (EDIT The Ship was the HMS Rodney, which dropped 75 One Ton Shells on The island - This was a control bunker for one of the guns here - The proof is in THIS NEWSREEL
There is a scene of almost total devastation, that has been decaying like this for 60 years!
