England swings like a pendulum do
Bobbies on bicycles, two by two
Westminster Abbey, the tower of Big Ben
The rosy red cheeks of the little children.
(England Swings - Roger Miller)
If you don't know the song , look it up on youtube!

We went to a local town by train today, and they had this big, noisy clock, and Ferris Wheel!
The afternoon Sun looked good on it though.

The Admiralty Arch in London, just near Trafalgar Square.

The unthinkable happened, and the operating system died on my PC. I have my photos backed up, but the last couple of days on Alderney are in danger, as well, all the things I had separated out to send to Flickr in the future. C'est la Vie. ;-(

I have been in London, and took this image. As an Australian, I was taught at School (a long time ago)that Captain Cook discovered Australia! That is simply not right, he wasn't even the first European! Anyway. the inscription reads...
Circumnavigator of the globe, explorer of the Pacific Ocean, he laid the foundations of the British Empire in Australia and New Zealand charted the shores of Newfoundland and traversed the Ocean Gates of Canada, both East & West.
... Unveiled 7th July 1914
