The Kong Meng San Phor Kark See Monastery in Singapore is apparently the largest Buddhist Monastery outside China!. Here part of it is seen in the low light of the Sunset on the day before Vesak Day. A procession thousands of people taking 3 steps then kowtowing was just starting. That continued through the entire night.
The size an design of these buildings is truly impressive!
You can see the beginning of the procession HERE

A close up of two of the Buddhist Monks leading the procession around the Kong Meng San Phor Kark See Monastery. There is a group of hundreds of people following. They all take 3 steps & then drop all the way to the ground.
This is in honour of Vesak Day (also known as Buddha Day).
It is extremly hot & humid in the Equatorial climate and this is hard work! If you look LARGE On Black you can see the sweat on the Monks!
You can see a wider shot of the scene & more people HERE

This is the back of the big building that you see in my photos of the Kong Meng San Phor Kark See Monastery. Here is an example.
The imposing size of this building is hard capture...
This is a 3 exposure HDR. The wind was blowing the trees around, which shows in the leaves!

Another image from the expedition to the roof of the apartment building.
Here you can see the important Buddhist Kong Meng San Phor Kark See Monastery complex & columbarium. The green area behind that is Bishan Park.
As this was taken during the Qingming (Tomb Sweeping) festival, the plumes of smoke are from the burning of offerings to the departed
