The Alderney Breakwater weathering HUGE seas from the Atlantic. This is a huge Breakwater, and it is hard to describe the size of these waves (or the sound!).
It is not often I put up more than one photo, but I did today . These were taken on Monday at lunchtime, in really dark & difficult conditions.
(I did this one in B&W to bring the contrast out. This was full zoom in hazy drizzle conditions)

Gaggle of Gilded Giant Guys
A quick one from my Birmingham sojourn from yesterday.
This is the gilded statue of Matthew Boulton, James Watt & William Murdock - These guys really WERE giants (of the mind) as these three men created the industrial revolution! This is an old "standard" bronze statute, that the city had gilded in 2004 (ish) for some reason! It is very striking.

The sign that points to the path that runs to the the view of "Gannet Rock" or Les Étacs, which are off shore rocks that hold a Gannet colony. The island under the sign is Berhou, where puffins nest in Summer.
Alderney is a bird watcher's paradise at certain times of the year.
