A view of the southern facade of the Pike County Courthouse in Pittsfield, Illinois. Completed in 1895, the courthouse is the centerpiece of the Pittsfield Historic District which was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980. This landmark. eight-sided Romanesque style building, is the design of architect Henry Elliott of Chicago. Elliott also designed the courthouses in Edgar and Jersey counties in Illinois.

Pittsfield is located in west Central Illinois. The population was 4,265 in 2018.

East School, constructed between 1863 and 1866, was designed by architect John Mills Van Osdel (1811-1891). Among Van Osdel's other designs are the Illinois Executive Mansion in Springfield, and the original Palmer House hotel in Chicago. East School initially housed both the grade school and high school, but by the time it closed in 1955, the school was used by the lower grades.

East School was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1971, and has been the home of the Pike County Historical Society Museum since 1978.

Pittsfield is located in west Central Illinois and is the seat of Pike County. The population was 4,576 at the 2010 census.

Designed by architect Theodore Kistner, Higbee High School in Pittsfield, Illinois was completed in 1908 and dedicated the following year. From 1955 until the school closed in 1996, the building was used as a junior high.

In its final years, the building fell into disrepair. Plans for a $2M renovation project to convert the old school into commercial space were unsuccessful, and the building was demolished in 2013.

Pittsfield is located in west Central Illinois and is the seat of Pike County. The population was 4,576 at the 2010 census.
