A closer look at the oldest group of commercial buildings left in the business district. The three brick structures on the south side of the E. Washington all date back to the late 19th century.

Of particular note is the two-story brick building on the right. The cornerstone marks it as having been built in 1998 as the Grand Army of the Republic Post 402. The G.A.R. was founded in 1866 in Decatur, Illinois, which is just 27 miles northeast of Edinburg.
