Several old Sabres standing alert duty on the Sky Harbor National Guard ramp in 1959. They look tired and were soon to be replaced with the Lockheed F-104. As a side note, Sabre 53-0828 was written off after a hard landing on 11 May 1960.
This is an 8x10 crop of a 6x6 negative. I'm uncertain what camera dad used in making this image.

Sketched on site at the National Naval Aviation Museum, Pensacola during the 2011 forum of the American Society of Aviation Artists.
In homage to the late Jim Sharpe, an accomplished artist and illustrator who had flown McDonnell F3H Demons as a Naval Aviator. His callsign, you ask? "Notso," naturally.
