This peak is the highest (6,317ft) in karnataka and the highest between Nilgiris and the Himalayas. This peak can be reached from Chikamagalur and is around 15+kms distance from the town. A few buses going towards the Baba Budanagiri (starting at 7 AM, with 1-hour interval) will take you to the foothill of the peak where an arch (Sarpadaari) is built saying about the peak Mullayanagiri.Try to make the best use of the rare occasion to travel atop a crowded bus, and enjoy the thrill of seeing steep hills and gorges staring right on your face as the bus takes one treacherous turn after the other.This could be the starting point or a little before this spot another track (jeep track) takes you to the peak.
