Connections with nature is a beautiful feeling to have. Those feelings are organic and innate. The landscape speaks, I listen, and I try to capture that visual language.
With my latest body of work, Bayou Zen, is an example of these thoughts. The bayou for me is a place of zen. The landscape is eerie, mysterious, yet strikingly beautiful. A place where one can get immerse themselves in nature and disconnect from their own reality. The calmness, the stillness, the various autumn colors, the whispering morning mist takes mind and body to another reality. I’ve never photographed another landscape quite like this.
I have made uncountable images from the area over the years. Each visit is different. Your eye matures, you evolve as a person, and your vision changes over time. And what’s great, is that evolution shows in the imagery. This is another chapter with my photography, and will continue to evolve with my imagery as time goes on. Hope you guys enjoy the new images.
